Balingtai has a unique culture and the coexistence of three religions.
Balingtai is a place where Ba people's culture is concentrated. Confucius and Wenchang Halls on the mountain represent Buddhism culture.
As the saying goes, "two tigers are not allowed on one mountain". Buddhism prevails on Mount Emei and Taoism prevails on Mount Qingcheng. Why does Balingtai have three cultures of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism? This unique phenomenon is very rare. We have invited many experts and professors to conduct research, but no conclusion has been reached today
In the early Ming Dynasty, there was only one Yaowang temple at the top of Balingtai Peak. By the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, there were nine temples and one zhai hall on the top of balingtai Peak, and there were niuwang Temple and Guanyin Temple on the hillside, altogether 12 temple buildings. The whole building is built according to the mountain, simple and elegant, steep and peculiar, with thousands of Buddha statues, resplendent and grounded to the sky. Gathering Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism in one mountain, it is not only the main altar of Samba Buddhism, but also the Medicine King Bodhisattva Dojo.
From the Reign of Emperor Qianlong to the end of the 1940s, the yellow lantern, the melodious Sound of Buddha, the morning bell, ringing through the sky, an endless stream of pilgrims, spring, summer, autumn and winter incense. In the Qing Dynasty, there were poems on the **** wall of The Balingtai Temple. The poem reads: "Orioles sing and dance in the bright sun, men and women climb Lingshan. That no individual can live alone. Stone cattle looking back at the observatory, red clouds green bamboo eyes. The sound of laughter in praise of the scenery, revisit lingtai words that year.
